Why Pick Invisalign Instead Of Braces To Straighten Your Teeth?

Easy, Comfortable, and Virtually Invisible

Discreet

Discreet

Invisalign aligners are clear and made of safe plastic. They fit snugly on your teeth and are hardly noticeable, so you will not feel awkward while fixing your smile.
Comfortable

Comfortable

Traditional braces have metal brackets that can irritate and hurt, but Invisalign aligners are made of smooth plastic that is gentle on your lips and gums
Removable

Removable

Invisalign aligners can be taken out when you eat, brush, and floss. They are easier to use than braces and let you eat anything you want.

How Do Invisalign® Aligners Work

Invisalign works like regular braces, but it does not use metal wires and brackets. The aligners gently push your teeth into place, and each one is a bit different to move your teeth slowly over time, usually taking a year or more.

Issues Treated With Invisalign

Invisalign can fix many of the same orthodontic issues as braces. Here are some conditions treated by our dentists with Invisalign at Unity Dental Care office:

Cross bite

Crossbite

One set of teeth is too close to the tongue or cheek.

Excessive spacing

Gapped Teeth

There are gaps between the teeth that you can see.

Open Bite

Open Bite

The top and bottom teeth do not touch completely.
Crowding

Overcrowding

The teeth are crowded, and they overlap in several places.

Invisalign can fix one or more of these problems to make your bite better and your smile nicer. Your plan will be made just for you, so you will eventually have a smile that looks good and is easy to take care of.

Are You Eligible For Invisalign Aligners?

Candidacy Factors

Moderate Misalignment:

Invisalign is best for mild to moderate cases. If your teeth are severely misaligned, you might need traditional braces.

Responsibility:

For Invisalign to work well, patients should wear the aligners for at least 22 hours every day. They should also follow the instructions and be careful not to lose the trays.

Discretion Is a Priority:

Lots of teens and adults pick Invisalign because it is almost invisible. Your friends and family will not even notice you are wearing it.

Invisalign Aligners Treatment Process

Just like all our restorative, cosmetic, and preventive dental procedures, Invisalign starts with a first meeting. During this appointment, we check your oral health, talk about your options, and explain how Invisalign works. If you choose Unity Dental Office for Invisalign, here is what you can expect:
Digital Impressions
If you choose clear aligner therapy, we will use a special tool to take pictures of your teeth and create a digital model of your bite. This model helps us make your custom Invisalign aligners.
Fabrication of Aligners

After taking pictures of your teeth, we send them to a dental lab. A skilled technician there will make your new Invisalign trays based on what our dentists want. Each tray is made to gradually shift your teeth into the right positions.

Active Treatment

During treatment, you need to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours every day. You can take them out for eating, drinking (except water), brushing, or flossing. Every two weeks, you switch to the next set of aligners until you get the results you want.

Maintaining Your Results

After your treatment, your teeth will be straight and even. To keep them from moving back to their old positions, you need to wear a retainer. At Unity Dental Care, we give all our Invisalign patients a

Vivera® retainer.

Caring for Your Invisalign Aligners

To keep your aligner trays in good condition, it is important to take care of them well. Here are some tips from our dentists.

Clean Them Regularly

Clean your trays twice a day, in the morning and at night. Use a soft toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap. Do not use toothpaste because it can scratch the aligners.

Rinse Your Trays

Patients should rinse their Invisalign trays every time they take them out. This helps remove dried saliva, food bits, plaque, and bacteria that can cause cavities.

Soak Them Daily

Every day, soak your aligners in a cleaning solution to keep them clean and fresh. Then, brush them gently with a toothbrush before putting them back in your mouth.

Use A Protective Case

When you take out your trays, always keep them in a protective case to protect them from damage. Also, avoid storing them in very hot or very cold temperatures because they can change their shape.
